Spring 2009 Geography Conferences What are geography conferences like? In one word, fun! Conferences
are a great place to meet and bond with your fellow geographers –
whether it be on field trips, workshops, or in presentations.
They are also a good place to find out about upcoming job opportunities
in the field of geography. What do you do at geography conferences? You can learn about current research
in geography, and support Fullerton's geographers as they present their
work. You can even present your own research. Or, if you
rather, see geography in action on a field trip. Past field trips
Geography Club members have participated in include kayaking followed
by winetasting in Sonoma or rafting the Sacramento River.
Official field trips through conferences usually cost some money, so
sometimes the Geography Club makes up our own field trips while at conferences
– like the trip to Lassen at last year's CGS meeting in Chico. What Conferences are coming up this
semester?
