Brief
biography: I have a broad background in atmospheric science, earth system science, environmental science, ecosystem ecology, remote sensing, and geographic information science. I received my Ph.D. in soil science/climatology with an emphasis on remote sensing and my master's degree in geographic information science from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, and my M.S. and B.S. in applied meteorology from Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences and Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, respectively. My research is interdisciplinary. I combine field experiments, remote sensing, geospatial analyses, and modeling approaches to understand the nature and causes of land cover and ecosystem dynamics, and to identify the consequences of these variations in the context of climate and environmental change. |
