Sustainability Minor

CSUF’s new Sustainability minor will help students choose courses focused on the increasingly important subject of how to support ecological resilience to meet the needs of both the present and the future. Students will take 12 units of courses (4 classes), distributed across 4 categories: environmental science, politics & economics of sustainability, social & cultural perspectives on sustainability, and an applied capstone experience. Many of the classes eligible for the new Sustainability minor are in GE categories B1, B5, C2, C3, D3, E, and F, so this is a way for students to structure their GE and elective courses in order to reflect their values and show future employers that they are prepared for the growing field of sustainability.

Students must earn a “C” (2.0) or better in all courses counted toward the minor. Units used for the minor must be applied exclusively to the minor and may not be used to satisfy other program requirements, except for general education.

Some courses have prerequisites; please review the course descriptions in the CSUF catalog for more information.

For more information about the minor or to set up an in-person or online advising meeting, please contact the Sustainability minor advisor, Dr. Mark Drayse (mdrayse@fullerton.edu).
